Obstetric Airway Challenges

This article examines the complex and high-risk nature of airway management in obstetric anesthesia, where anatomic and physiologic changes, time pressure, and emotional intensity intersect. It highlights the disproportionately high incidence of difficult and failed intubation in this population and explores how applying human factors principles, focusing on teamwork, training, and system design, can improve safety and outcomes.
